Beneficiaries

The primary beneficiaries of Public-Private Partnerships for Urban Environment (PPPUE) are the Government of Nepal mainly the Ministry of Local Development and National Planning Commission (NPC). The other ministries and the corporate private sector adopting the PPP modality also benefit from the project in terms of the policy frameworks and the institutional arrangements initiated by the project  at the central level and municipal offices and district chambers of commerce and industry offices at the local level. The urban poor and inhabitants of partner municipalities in general will benefit from increased access to basic services and improved urban environment as well as through effective municipal governance.

 

The secondary beneficiaries are institutions and individuals such as the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Municipal Association of Nepal (MuAN), local businesses and community organisations who will benefit from their direct participation in Public-Private Partnerships and from capacity building provided by the project
