
The piloting of potential PPP projects is one of the important activities of PPPUE. Consultation and consensus building are at the centre of this as public authorities; civil society and the private sector together identify and agree upon pro-poor PPP projects. More broadly the intent is to create "demonstration effects" so that more and more PPP cases are initiated and the feasibility of PPP is impressed upon all stakeholders.
The project lays a strong focus on the delivery of basic urban servicesto poor, marginalised and vulnerable groups. PPPUE provides Innovative Partnership Grant (Seed Grant) to investment type of PPP projects belonging to priority sectors below:

There are also indirect benefits such as time savings because of better access to services, improvements in the urban environment, and improved hygiene and sanitation leading to savings in health care expenses, etc.
Significant contributions have been made through PPPUE projects in drinking water provision, urban sanitation - primarily solid waste management and public toilet provision, management of municipal facilities like markets, bus terminals, etc.
